Niger possesses an extensive water network composed mainly of the Niger river, Lake Chad, the Komadougou Yobé as well as countless permanent and semi-permanent pools. Despite this potential, Nigeriens consume fish imported from abroad because fishermen’s catches do not cover the fish requirements of the Nigerien population. The objective of this project is to reduce or bring an end to fish imports and to provide fresh good-quality fish to Nigeriens.
